The Balmoral

A relaxed start to the day as we were taking BB to a hospital appointment.  I had time to do some ironing and a few other things before we set off.  We got there in good time, but parking was an issue, one out, one in.  Thankfully we didn’t have too much of a wait – but once we were in, we had to find the space.  We didn’t have to wait long before he was taken to x-ray, where he was greeted like a long lost friend by the radiographer, who had been working last week when he was first in.  The waiting really started – it was a very long wait until he was taken, but he did get to see the consultant, who told us that both forearm bones are broken.  They didn’t tell us that last week!

The consultant was generally happy with things, though one of the bones is still not quite aligned.  He has to go back next Monday for another assessment.  There is a risk it may get worse, rather than better, but hopefully not if BB is very careful.  He has to keep his big and heavy cast for another week.  He really wanted a smaller and lighter one, and while he may get a lighter cast next week, it won’t be a smaller one. The consultant also shared the news that he may not be back to sporting activities this year.  Poor BB.

TT took BB back home and then to school, while I headed to work.  I spent the afternoon catching up and have brought some papers home to read up on for tomorrow.

Blips were in short supply today.
