Classic Pargetting

This whimsically detailed surface relief has been worked into the render on the side of the old Sun Inn (currently vacant, but most recently a lovely antiques and used bookstore) on Church Street in Saffron Walden. The entire front of the building is covered in relief details. Brilliantly done. I love this one, with the bird blossoms eating the fruit.

We had a lovely sunny day, with a nip in the air in the morning on my bike ride to the office. Seemed productive, but I spent over 3 hours on the phone!
