RAZOR BLADES

Good news - we have arrived safely.  The self catering Bungalow is gorgeous, everything you would expect to find in a 5 star hotel, except of course we make our own bed and supply our own breakfast|!!!

We expected to come across a lot of floods and downpours, according to the weather forecast.  Well it was fine.  One or two large puddles in roads but nothing impassable.

We stopped of at the Courtyard Brasserie near Settle on the way, for coffee and a nibble.  Two of the shops have closed down now and only the furniture and clothes shop remains - which is quite sad.  The Brasserie was good though.  This was the view coming out of their front door.

AA route map took us all around B roads and a couple of housing estates to find The Crimple Hall Garden Centre where stopped for a browse and a very lovely Sunday Roast.

We got to within about a mile of the self catering bungalow, when the route map got it a bit wrong.  We ended up going towards Leeds.  So returned via the A66 ended up heading into the City Centre, which I know we didn't need so said "just take the next major road right and we will have to work out how to get there".  I then saw a sign for York Racecourse - I knew we were in that area and voila - we found it, no problem.

It is a gorgeous place, really really like it.

Bad News - the cold has returned with a vengeance, now at razor blades state with shivers and temperature.  So guess I'll not be seeing much of York - just the inside of this place.  Need to get out to the local tescos to find some more honey and lemon and then that's it I'm afraid.

I guess it just means we'll have to come again at some point, when we'e saved up enough and do all those things we wanted to do this time *sigh*.  Ah well that's life, at least it's not major just a horrible cold.  Luckily I don't get them very often but when I do, they are humdingers!!  At least we will be comfortable.

Hope you are all OK.  Take care, may see you tomorrow if I can find something here to blip.
