Shiny

That's me. Shiny. Weekend's pain was Pericarditis (or Devil's Grip to give it its colloquialism) which is basically an inflammation of the fluid around the heart (not the ribs as I'd been incorrectly remembering). Treated it in exactly the right way with anti-inflammatories, and it was probably brought on by the cold I picked up just after Christmas as viruses can normally kickstart it, especially when you're run down. It'll likely just be something that every now and then I'll have to put up with - hopefully in the future the timing won't be so bad.

And the rash...? Post-virus reaction, likely nothing more, nothing less. Should subside over the next few days. Heart rate and blood pressure were declared 'perfect'. So. Shiny.

Bit like the new cassette (and crankset and chain) put on the Kaff tonight. Campagnolo darling (I've written online before about the daily bike often not being thought of as the 'best bike, but it's the one you ride, by definition, every day and so it really does deserve possibly more love and attention than other 'fair weather' bikes). Won't stay shiny for long of course, but the old one was getting most definitely a little on the 'worn' side, and the replacement was a bit overdue. Then for whatever reason a previously patched puncture on the rear tyre decided to let go, so I had to fix that as well. But then I like late-night dabbling in the garage.
