West Macdonnells Camping trip - Glen Helen

An early morning walk from the Palm Valley campsite produced the blipped photo.
There's another walk near yesterday's walk, the Mpaara. Incredibly beautiful, and more challenging - photo in Extras.

We drove to Glen Helen via Gosse Bluff, which is considered to be the eroded remnant of an impact crater.

Glen Helen itself was cold and very windy, with gusts sending clouds of sand through the camping area. It was not at all suitable for swagging, so we grabbed ourselves a room, with ensuite. $199! grief! A very small dark room, and not even a jug to boil water. No views either. We thought it was grossly overpriced. The hot shower was nice though!
