BCAM - Day 10

You just never know what a day is going to bring!

Well today was the day I got the results of the biopsy from last week.

My friend Rosanna and I headed into town with excitement as we’d planned to meet up with little Addie later and have some girl time.

I honestly went in with no expectation of receiving any bad news, and so when the doctor proceeded to tell me “your biopsy results have come back positive, you have cancer” and then proceed to tell me about treatment, it was a huge shock, to say the least. All I could think of was the fact that Martin wasn’t there and wasn’t with me, but SOOO grateful that Rosanna was and she could listen to all that was being said as I just processed.

So amongst all that our family is having to contend with at the moment, we can add breast cancer to the list. THANKFULLY it is early stage and very treatable and I know that all will be well.

It’s taken me a few days to process. We have a few decisions to make and are going to spend the weekend praying about it. I see the doctor again Monday morning to discuss a new procedure called ‘cryosurgery’ which is offered to early detection patients. Oh my!!!!

Ben has had a few days off work and was inspired to bake bread ... here’s his first attempt!!! It was amazing.

BCAM has meant so much to me as I’ve had my favourite aunt go through this and of course more recently Geraldine, and many other close friends, and so raising awareness and detecting early has been something I’ve been advocating. Now I’m going to practice what I preach ...
