Over The Rocks

Lake levels have risen considerably following the substantial quantity of rain that fell during the week. Lapping several feet up onto the grass, water surrounds rocks that are normally well exposed and usually form the shoreline.

I experimented with a ND filter to get longer exposures, smoothing out the ripples on the water surface from the stiff breeze. As the clouds closed in the light on the water subdued leaving faint reflections and some variation.

The colours in the rocks stand out against a preponderance of neutral tones. And the rocks curve around across the foreground, leading to the line of reeds that points to the light in the sky. All in all a satisfying image and I like the calm feeling the scene portrays.
