The Fisherman

Way in the distance, in the shadow against the far shore, the white of the hull reflecting the evening sun caught my eye. I had been engrossed in the reeds nearby with my 100-400 lens and looked up momentarily. Switching focus, I just got set up in time to catch the fisherman casting for a fish. The thin white line stood out against the dark trees behind, glinting in the light.

I don't mind the soft focus image, it's the mood that counts, a man in his element, happy as Larry (unless he comes back empty handed).

I used the dehaze slider in LR to good effect on the background to increase definition of the trees. The hazy evening light and windy conditions did not lend themselves to a long shot.

Extra: Breezy Evening.
