Colours on a dull day

Unfortunately our timing weather wise is a little off - they had glorious sunshine here on the weekend and yesterday, had very warm temperatures due to the Foehn wind - but today, our first full day here, it was dull with heavy rain forecast. After breakfast we set off on a walk over the golf course. It is tricky trying to find short walks for Xena, and in some cases we may have to drive to the start of the walk instead of walking there from our apartment as we usually do.

The autumn colours are spectacular, and I took so many photos on our walk which I know I will just take all over again if we get a sunny day this week, as with grey skies they don't look their best. The rain held off until very late this afternoon so we were lucky.

After the walk we went to the supermarket to stock up on groceries. Then we had to phone the vet to book a visit for Xena's passport checks before we drive home again on Saturday. We also had to phone the TV repairman as our satellite TV is not working and luckily he came to check the problem this afternoon - we need a new Swisscom box which he will order and fit later this week - I do love Swiss efficiency.

We are holding thumbs for a Brexit deal to be agreed or else we are screwed for our Christmas plans when we intend to drive here again with Xena. If there is a deal, the only change to the current passport regulations is that she will require a blood test a month after having her rabies innoculation which has to be 21 days before you travel. if there is no deal, she has to have a blood test a month after her rabies inoculation and then wait 3 months before she can travel, which will be too late for end of December.

Xena is being so well behaved, she has adapted to apartment living very well and settled in with no problems. She is enjoying her walks and even seems able to speak Swiss German to the other dogs she meets! This is a farming village so the farmers have spread manure everywhere, and she is loving the smell of manure and even tried to sample some...but got a very loud LEAVE from me!

Tomorrow will be colder now that the Foehn wind has abated but we hope it will be sunny.
