Descent into cloud

You expect to descend into cloud when in an aircraft coming into land, but not when driving south on the M6. Kendal and south Cumbria were in fog all day, but as we drove to Penrith, we emerged into brilliant sunshine at Tebay. 4 hours later as we returned from our meeting, we descended back into the cloud in the Lune Valley.

If the composition of this is not up to standard, it was because it was taken through the windscreen of Mags' car at 70 mph as we headed south. This is the view into the no-mans-land between the M6 and the A6 north of Tebay.

Gus update. He travelled to work with Wifie today, and behaved himself impeccably. He and I will shortly go for our late walk, perhaps along the Arnside prom to the coastguard station again.
