Wallington

Left home in biblical weather this morning, out little flower bed in the front lawn was like a pond! Extra.
Got to Leeming with only one diversion for flooding just outside Otley and stopped for a coffee and felt the rain was definitely easing. By the time we got to the Angel of the North the rain had stopped and we could see blue sky ahead.
Perfect for our planned stop at Wallington (NT) with lots of wonderful colours and special half term treats including these fun nods to Halloween.
We walked to the walled garden through the trees. Got tea and cake at the Kiosk and sat outside to eat it. The lady inside was cold but they had not had rain today.
In the green houses there was a dark red Arbutus like the one we saw at Rosemoor a month ago, that one was growing outside.  https://www.blipfoto.com/entry/2624328853727740969
What a difference 300 miles plus makes!
We are now at our accommodation for three nights. Meeting our friends Ron and Ian here for dinner, just over a week since we saw them in Bristol and we hadn’t seen them all year till then!
Seems I’ve forgotten my charger so you may not get any comments from me over the next few days, hope I’ll manage to post.
The extra shows the difference today between W Yorkshire and Northumberland! ( I’ll do a Flickr link of the gardens when I get back)
