One o'clock: on the train

Today's challenge is to photograph what I was doing during the hour between 1pm and 2pm.

Well, I was on the train into London. There weren't many other passengers, as you can see, so it was a pleasant quiet journey.

We went to Somerset House to see the exhibition "Cartier-Bresson: A Question of Colour" which attempted to illustrate how photographers working in Europe and North America adopted and adapted the master's ethos to their work in colour (as HCB himself was not keen on colour photography). An interesting exhibition, but I was more entertained by another photographic exhibition at the same venue, "Tim Walker: Story Teller", featuring some extraordinarily creative and often humorous fashion pictures, incorporating outlandish props such as giant dolls, spiders, and a near life-size model Spitfire. The design effort and preparation for the photo-shoots must be immense, but the results are spectacular and unique.

Finally we dropped by the National Theatre for a final look at the Landscape Photographer of the Year exhibition (closing this weekend), polished off with a large glass of wine on an empty stomach (perhaps not such a good idea!).
