Waiting for lunch?

We had a planned power outage today, and also W's car was booked in for MOT and service.  So I picked him up at the garage in Surlingham, and we then dropped in to The Ferry Inn for breakfast.  After filling our faces with a Full English, we went for a walk along the river. 

Not a lot of bird life to see, but we did spot some odd goings on - see extra.  No - I have no idea what he was doing in the river, but I bet he was cold.

We then had another cup of tea in the pub, whilst allowing some of the mud on our shoes to dry enough to be knocked off before getting in the car.  We watched this heron, who spent at least 30 mins patiently waiting on the opposite bank - for the fishermen to feed him perhaps.
