Hauxley

An early start for us on a Saturday, for MrM to drive us down to near Warkworth, to pick up a mandolin that's been on loan to a musician. His tour is finished so he no longer needs the instrument, and we have a potential buyer!

Then on to Hauxley Nature Reserve for a walk on the beach. By the time we got there, the rain had cleared and it was ridiculously mild for the beginning of November - MrM and I were both overdressed. Enjoyed a coffee and delicious cherry scone (MrM's courgette and lime cake was pretty good, too) at the visitor centre, before heading home via the DIY store in Alnwick.

Spent a couple of hours working in the 'yard this afternoon, while MrM prepared the hearth in the living room for concreting tomorrow. Dashing off to a concert by Katie Doherty and the Navigators in Etal this evening...
