Happy birthday Mr PHL

Up quite late as both of us had a bad nights sleep - lots of tossing and turning!

Presented Mr PHL with his gifts on waking - he seemed bemused by the pork scratching advent calendar until he realised what it was.
Nothing from the children but apparently they’ve been a bit distracted - the boy with work and girlfriend and the daughter was writing her dissertation and getting ready to produce a play at the drama society so I think he will let them off.

Quite day again until we headed into town to go to Dishoom - a chain style Indian restaurant wit delicious food. Titrations problem was getting parked (we drove as the rain was tipping down) and the second was discovering that the wait time was up to an hour - in the cold! They don’t take reservations for less than 6 people in a group. So we headed to the west end to the Rendezvous- Edinburgh’s oldest Chinese restaurant. Mixed starter, crispy aromatic duck with pancakes followed by Kung Po king prawn for the birthday boy and mushroom foo yung fir me. Allvery deliciius but I am so full now.
Next year is a big birthday so must try harder.
