Birthday celebrations

Up before Mr PHL to decorate the house (just a little) for the big birthday before getting breakfast ready and sending the puppy upstairs to wake the birthday boy!

He enjoyed the birthday message video a lot (phew) before opening cards and presents. Two of our neighbours had dropped off gifts which was a lovely surprise.

Quick call with our son and his girlfriend before it was time to walk the puppy. It was a glorious autumn day if a little chilly first thing.

We dropped Phin with friends to puppy sit before we headed into the city centre for a celebratory lunch. He was very happy to go with Fiona, her 6 year old black lab was less excited to see him!

Delicious Chinese meal at the Rendezvous which has the distinction of being the oldest Chinese restaurant in Edinburgh. Food was delicious as always and a funny moment when I asked for a large and before I could complete my drink order the waiter said sorry no wine (think he recognised me!) so we laughed and I finished my order with soda and lime!

Collected young Phin and he was very pleased to see us and had mostly behaved himself!

Home to chill before a family zoom call which worked better than expected. It was good to catch up on the news.

A few snacks for dinner washed down with a glass or two of champagne. Well it was a celebration not only of a milestone birthday but also the fact that common sense has prevailed and there will be new president in the White House come January.
