Aquamarine/Nanna K's Day

Across the Street

Fairview #4
I couldn't decide to blip which but what I really wanted to show in this "One Street" shot is the contrast. These two shots are from essentially the same spot on Fairview St. -one looking E and one NW. It was such a beautiful COLD sunny day here today - I took the camera on our walk to the UW campus for Oceanography 102 (which I'm only planning to attend 1-2 times a week, but H has enrolled - same instructor as last semester in Ocean 101 - she's starting out with a big unit on "Climate Change", no longer officially being referred to as "Global Warming" and how modern science is measuring this very complicated process--very interesting, really.)
..... but back to Fairview Street. This is another section a bit north of us, there are still some old quaint houses along this lane, but not for long I fear. There is a sign announcing a very large condo unit that will gobble up the likes of this fence and garden. And one spot nearby being bulldozed. The floating homes are part of a new big complex that also includes very large yachts out of the picture --I think there is room for 5 more floating homes, if you've got several million dollars! Probably the last place for them on the lake. I did like the still water today (but too cold for most of us to row!) More to blip before it all changes....
