Brothers in Arms

Remembering my paternal grandfather, Pvt.Clare Emerson Josselyn and his older brother, Pvt. Leon Webster Josselyn, who fought in France with the US 101st Infantry 26th "Yankee Division" Company K. My grandpa came back in 1919, his brother, Leon died in a field hospital with my grandpa at his side in late September of 1918.

The oil painting at the lower left is one I did to honor my grandfather's service for the 100th Anniversary of our involvement in the war to end all wars in 1918. 


I have often posted my grandfather's letter home telling his folks about Leon's death. It always brings me to tears.
