Farewell Spit

I’m really not sure where to start with today’s activities.   The beginning I suppose.

Doug and I had our 50th wedding anniversary back in February. As some of you may know we are blessed with a special  group of friends who put dollars in and bought us a trip out to Farewell Spit and the lighthouse as well as extra dollars for spendings. How very lucky are we.
Today was the day and the trip was totally awesome. The weather great but windy. White sands, lots of seals and birds; fantastic sand dunes, incredible sand patterns. Then lunch at the lighthouse with so much history. Of course that is all done digitally now. The last stop was at Cape Farewell where we were on the cliff tops looking fun to the gurgling water below.  I took so many photos today and haven’t even looked at them.  We decided we all needed another treat and went out to a country pub for dinner. It was an old primary school now disused and converted. Awesome
So you can see we’re having an amazing holiday with our friends in equally amazing NZ sea and landscapes.
Happy happy and very thankful.

Rainie
