Village Music and Players

"One Street" 11

This is planted in the flower bed in front the butchers and Post Office/Paper shop at the bottom of Long Lane, that has featured on my "One Street" before. Here. There has been some other planting in the flower bed too - signs of Spring with snow forecast for this week.

As you can see it is a promotional poster for the forthcoming Pantomime. Something I would normally be participating in but will be elsewhere this year. I took this on my way to church this morning and then went straight from church to the pub (The Fleece also on Long Lane ) for the annual Music Group reunion lunch. I was a member of the Music group before joining the Players, doing 4 musicals in the 1990's. There are varying views on which began first but I think they were the same group at one time with one or other of them splintering away. The Music group gave up mainly due to costs of performance royalties against receipts and a lack of men!

It was a very pleasant afternoon and probably the last time it will have this format as the current pub landlord is about to retire with lots of changes promised.

Thank you Corinthian Column for organising it.
