Chapel for the Grieving

A rushed shot taken in a transept in Southwell Minster. Colin and I had gone to see the tapestries by Jacqui Parkinson, called Tree of Life and Open Heaven, on display near the east end.

The Southwell Choral Society was rehearsing for its concert in the evening, to be joined by the Derwent Brass.

After a bite to eat in the refectory, we drove home in extremely murky conditions. I almost missed the turn on to the A46 because the sign was not illuminated.

This chapel is for those who are grieving for lost loved ones and want somewhere quiet to come and pray. The statue reminds me of the quotation, Come unto me all ye who are heavy laden, and I shall give you peace.
