Experience Day No 1

We’re up in Cheshire for a couple of days, enjoying two experiences. Today was a Top Gun Flight Simulator Experience in Staleybridge.  We turned up to an unlikely location, under railway arches. The company came out of a passion for flight simulators but taken to the Nth degree.  What started as a simple Microsoft Simulator has grown until you are now sitting in the front section of a Delfin L29 which was designed to be a jet fighter/ bomber trainer for the Warsaw Pact countries (NATO code name was Maya). All of the instruments worked, linked to the simulator to give an authentic experience, flying out of RAF Valley on Anglesey.  We had a great time over two plus hours.  We came away with a healthy respect for pilots; I crashed into Snowdon on my first attempt at flying solo.  Extras include yours truly and the detail of the inside of the cockpit.

After that we headed over into the Cheshire hills for a night at a local pub, before experience two in the morning.
