Warwickshire day 5: Windmill

You can see the weather was less than glamorous for the trip across the water but it was certainly atmospheric. A quick trip up to Chesterton windmill, designed by Inigo Jones and a marvel. Scencially situated on top of yes, Windmill Hill, with big views out if you could see them and a building of great beauty.

Wonderful to have a few days with Will. Then the horrors of Birmingham airport followed by a smooth flight home in a plane called after St Oliver Plunkett, always reassuring to be in a saintly plane. A fine view of Cork city as we came down.

Himself kindly met me, we just had time for some supper and then were straight out to a talk on the anthropology of Irish Christmas traditions - fascinating!

It's now actually Tuesday and I've already had an Irish lesson and am later off for art house and chips - tonight's offering is a French comedy about an all male synchronised swimming team - of course it is. Le Grand Bain Can you tell slight hysteria and exhaustion is setting in now??
