Bone Chilling, Wind-Driven Day!

You knew I'd start complaining the moment the rain started....it's here and there is nothing nice about this rain. It was a mere 42 degrees F today, with rain that had that almost mushy winter quality to it...just a tiny bit of splat on the windshield.

I met a friend for a lovely conversation and breakfast at my favorite garden center this morning. Afterwards it was our intention to go wander about their gardens and plants, but it was so darned cold and wet that we didn't spend much time at all. But they had the most amazing camellias and hellebores in full bloom. I caught this lovely (very wet) pink camellia - not a great shot but it's lovely to see plants in full bloom this time of year!

Here in Portland the Camellia sasanquas do bloom around Christmas - these I think have been forced a bit, but it sure was heart-warming. Tomorrow will be cold but dry and headed into the low 20 degrees F numbers in the nighttime for the next few days. Brr!
