Great Spotted Woodpecker

A trip to the dentist this morning to have another impression taken and for a bike test for my new denture. I purchased a few gluten free Christmas items in Waitrose and then came home.
 
I went into the kitchen to cook a late lunch and today’s picture was waiting to be taken, through the window as usual. It is a male Great Spotted Woodpecker. We have not seen any for a while, or maybe they have not been feeding when we were looking out of the window.
   
The temperature at GMT noon today of nine degrees Celsius; once again, another dull, wet and cold day.
