Surf's (not) up

Sea like a millpond today. We had to go to the beach; who knows how many more days like this there will be? I only went in up to my knees ... it was chilly. But perfect weather for lying on a sun lounger reading. Both beach bars were closed and there were only about 20 people on the beach.

Back home I made one of my favourite pulse-based "default dinners", pasta e fagioli. So good for a "winter" evening, and if you're vegetarian you can leave out the ham and it will still be good. I always make loads and freeze some for colder days. No pressure cooker here and the beans took ages, so dinner was rather later than I hoped. But entirely reasonable by Spanish standards.
