Looking for more nectar

Today S and I went North to Mangawhai to visit our friend who was suddenly and unexpectedly widowed just over two years ago. He and his wife (who had been in my class at Medical School) began planting on their land at Mangawhai around 20 years ago. Now he is curator of a large tree garden with various different areas.

There are two places where theLittle John and Bottle Brush shrubs abound, and attract the nectar feeders, and especially Tui. I saw this one fly into the shrubbery, and went out with my camera. The Tui was too busy feeding to pay any attention to me. I waited when it went deep inside the shrubs, and took photos when it came to the outside. This pose was my pick.
