Life with Alice

Happy First Advent Sunday!

Today has been really busy! Skiing from Ruka, Finland, which is super important, but also the first Advent Sunday. Mum always goes to church, but for some reason she didn’t want to go to the Cathedral today. So she listened to the radio service, and it had all the traditional hymns and music in it.

This, with her listening with her earphones plugged in, coincided with my walkies. We walked over by the police HQ, because that’s where the mailbox is and we had a letter to mail. Mum sang out loud because she knows all this by heart and loves to sing. It was OK, because this area is deserted on weekends. But just when we walked past the police station, six policemen/women stormed out and it was a bit embarrassing. Lucky mum wasn’t arrested.

We went to Grandma for Advent fika/coffee with saffron buns and pepparkakor (spiced cookies). I’m not allowed either of those, but I got a very generous platter with extra tasty food. This is me and Grandma with the first Advent candle.
