Stainless Steel Vulcan

Vulcan was the Roman god of fire and blacksmith to the gods. A sculpture by Edinburgh-born Eduardo Paolozzi, is of Vulcan swinging his hammer - half man and half machine. It is  a monument to the modern age, drawing on classical mythology. On permanent view in the museum of Modern Art, Edinburgh stretching two floors from the cafe area to the ceiling.
