Saint Etienne - Stormtrooper In Drag (1996)
Saint Etienne recorded this for a tribute album for Gary Numan, called Random. He wrote it with his bass player, Paul Gardiner, who put it out as his first single in 1981. Gary Numan produced it and sang and played bass and synths on the record. It was chosen for The Chain on Radcliffe & Maconie at the weekend, and as a result I ordered their album Continental, a Japan-only release from 1997 which includes this slightly shorter version. It arrived today.
