Christmas Fair

The Christmas Fair at Waddesdon is the biggest so far and has been in place for five weeks- it certainly pulls in the crowds.  This is one of the stall holders selling fudge and hot drinks.  I met some friends for our annual look at the Christmas Lights - everything this year is impressive and very tasteful.  Tickets are sold out on many days and the House is always full. The Three Amigos have been visiting Waddesdon today too.

As well as meeting friends I ended up helping out with Visitor Services managing the bus queues returning to the car parks,  Everyone seemed to want to leave at the same time so the queue stretched almost the whole length of the main drive.  By this time it was cold and wet so I was looking out for any 'vulnerable' people in the queue less able to stand or those in wheelchairs and more susceptible to the wind chill - we brought these people to front of the queue and got them on the buses as soon as we could,  I was also persuading some groups that they could walk back down. It was all good humoured and gradually the queue diminished with everyone safely away.

I didn't have much time at home before heading out again for a singing rehearsal - I'm helping out a small choir with a carol concert on Sunday as they are short of altos on this occasion - a rare occurrence.  Most music was well known but one or two pieces more unusual and new to me - some practice beforehand plus sight reading meant it all went well.
