A walk in the woods

This morning I drove around to the hardstanding adjacent to the woods where, a couple of years ago, I had asked our local "Tree People" to leave a trailer-full of wood chippings.  The path through the bluebell wood can get very muddy and be particularly bad where entered from the "Rides".

The past couple of winters have been ok but as it's very tricky to navigate at the moment I took a shovel round and laid a few layers of chippings.  However, the chippings aren't really close enough and it was hard work going back and forth, so when we next get a dry day I'll walk the wheelbarrow round, which should make the job quicker and less strenuous.

I've blended two pictures together for Abstract Thursday.
