"The Wild Shelter Of A Knotty Oak"

I shot the geese flying from the lake before eight this morning. It made me think of the start of the John Lewis/Waitrose Christmas ad. They've got that spot on. Unfortunately the light wasn't good enough at that hour for a decent image.

I photographed our southerly oak tree this afternoon as a bit of brightness lit up the winter sky. A charm of goldfinches on the wing can just be seen.
