Tang yuan

This is the Foo family equivalent of the picture on the front of some of today's UK papers. Not 4 generations of the Royal Family making Christmas pud but 3 generations of Foo/Sims making tang yuan, the glutinous rice balls made for Dongzhi, the winter solstice festival. They can be stuffed, ours are stuffed with tablet (!), then boiled before being served in a sweet soup of sugar water Traditionally you gain a year and young folk are supposed to eat one ball for every year of their life. Mmm, that would make 130 between Kee Fun and me.

Elsewhere, I ended up waking up haven fallen asleep over my laptop and then didn't go back to sleep but ended up booking a Thailand trip for January. And later friends are coming round for presents and Mandi's takeaway. I fear beer may be drunk.
