Winter solstice-Scotland

Shortest day of the year- and will I be glad to see the back of it.
From now on each day will gradually lengthen, albeit initially by less than a minute.

Tonight is the longest night of the year with the sun not rising until 8.05 tomorrow morning though I suspect we won’t see it in Scotland until later- if at all.

While  pagan and druid communities may be celebrating the first sunrise the rest of us will be busy doing last minute shopping.

N.B. This photo was taken at midday.
