Trees

There are currently two trees on display at Cumbernauld Old Parish Church: our Christmas Tree, of course, and also our Rainbow Tree.

Each year in mid-December we have a service for people who have been bereaved and who find Christmas a difficult or sad time. During the service they are invited to tie a ribbon to the bare branches from a tree, which we then call our Rainbow Tree.

While our Christmas Tree remains up until 'Twelfth Night', our Rainbow Tree remains in church until Easter Day, when all the ribbons are removed, ironed and made into a variety of keepsakes which people are welcome to take away.

Today's Blip is a composite photo of our two trees, which I took when down at the church on Sunday morning.
