twinkle twinkle .....

Although we're not yet living in the new house, we have met some of the people who live in the other houses.  And last night we were invited to a 'get to know the neighbours' party.

Nine houses have been built on the ruins of the old Taylors Mustard factory, of which eight are now occupied.  

The people we met are a mixed bunch - young couples, old singles and us.  A very nice bunch and keen to help us settle in.  We've never lived in a community like this before.  Over 30 years of living in Milton Keynes on an estate of about 100 houses and we probably only got to know 3 other families.

At the end of the evening as we make our way back to our car, we look up and see something we've never seen before.  Well not in Milton Keynes.  The night sky.

We're just behind the High Street and it's pitch black - so we're treated to Orion's Belt, the Plough and many other twinkling sights.

A couple of the neighbours walking back to their house are amused at our surprise: "You're going to love living here" they say.
