Wide Wednesday . . . Christmas Day

After a brunch of whitebait sandwiches it was decided the tree should have it's annual haircut.  We keep it flat on top so we can still see the view when sitting on the deck.  The lovely daughter in her Christmas dress holds the ladder for the forester who is snipping away.  I'm on the deck saying which bits need to be snipped.  Thanks to Bob for keeping it wide with challenge.
We had a delicious lunch of glazed ham and a range of vegetables and of course the trifle.  It lived up to expectations.  Later in the afternoon we went to visit with the inlaws and their extended family.  They were all sitting in the garden after their lunch.  A relaxed day.

Across the miles at Christmas
Trees twinkle,
stars sparkle,
candles glow
and thoughts of you are very bright.

This was the verse on a card I received from a blip buddy in Colorado.
Merry Christmas to all my blip buddies.
