The annual Christmas ritual of setting fire to the pudding with whisky always fascinates foreign visitors.
 
And so it was today when  New Yorker, Kate, (left) witnessed the fire ritual for the first time.
 
Tonight I got an email from a former Ukrainian student we had at Christmas and the highlight of the dinner for her was, you’ve guessed, the Christmas pudding on fire.
