BOXING DAY

Did you know that Boxing Day derives it's name from a time when the rich used to box up gifts to give to the poor. Boxing Day was traditionally a day off for servants, and the day when they received a special Christmas box from their masters. The servants would also go home on Boxing Day to give Christmas boxes to their families.

Another good day.  We went to Bowness-on-Windermere this morning.  This has become a tradition somehow, only since about 2007, but we just seem to go there every Boxing Day.

Had a stroll along by the lakeside, had a coffee then strolled through the town.  Up the hill and back down towards the lake again.  We called into the Old England hotel found a nice little table overlooking the lake and just had a bowl of soup.

It was only raining drips and drops then but as we were driving home the rain became much heavier so it was a good thing we were heading home.  We got in about 2.15 so a pleasant few hours out.

Now back home watching The Jungle Book (non animated version).  We now how to Rock'n'roll in this house!!!

Hope you've all had a pleasant day as well.

Take care, thank you so much for continuing to drop by and for your lovely comments and stars.  See you all tomorrow.
