Yummy brunch at Camilla's

We all got up feeling reasonably fit, rested and not hungover. Yay. Rosie decided that the threat of flooding to her home in Wiltshire meant that she had to return there, which was a shame as we had all been invited to pop in to Camilla and Sridhar's home for a festive brunch.

We were warmly greeted and plied with drink and food galore. They love Indian vegetarian food so we started with hot samosas and onion bhajis washed down with the excellent local white sparkling wine from the Woodchester Vineyard, only a couple of miles away up the Nailsworth valley.

Cheese followed accompanied by delicious chutney and some 'medlar cheese' which I'd never had before. It has made me plan ahead to make some from our medlars next year. (I failed rather miserably this year by letting our crop of about thirty medlar fruits over ripen while I was feeling ill).

Camilla raided her freezer and presented us with her fantastic  homemade ice cream which you can see we are all eating, or in my case about to eat, when I stopped faffing about with a camera. Christmas cake, coffee and port finished us off.

Home to recover once again. As always it was a delight to share food with friends. Thank you, Camilla!
