Warkworth Castle

Sadly, time to wave goodbye to Tom this morning - MrM and I got up before at the crack of dawn to get him to Berwick Station in time for his train back home. He's working at the theatre this afternoon. Then a walk on Cocklawburn Beach - very overcast, so no sunrise photos.

Lucy and Jake packed their bags and put them in the car before we all set off for Warkworth, first for a walk around the town, then a short walk by the sea. Would have been very nice to have spent a bit more time on the beach, as the weather was much better than yesterday, though the sea was quite foamy (extra, Coquet Island). After a late lunch at Carlo's (thanks Lucy and Jake!), we spent a while at Barter Books, where three of us purchased a book or two! Finally, and all too soon, time to wave goodbye to Lucy and Jake, when they caught their train from Alnmouth Station.

MrM and I went back to Alnwick and somehow summoned the energy to do a very modest supermarket shop - no need for much, as we'll mostly be living on left-overs for the coming week. Home to relax for an hour in front of the TV - 'Gavin & Stacey'.
