Wound up in Wexford

Malpaís de Güímar

We said we wanted exercise today, so we searched the leaflets in our apartment, and found one with some walks.  6km, moderate level of difficulty, didn't seem excessively challenging.

My balance has been adversely affected by the broken wrist limiting how much I use that arm.  And the terrain, a mixture of lava pebbles and sand, was not easy walking.  Also there was quite a lot of up and down.  So all in all, I was glad to get back to the car.

But the landscape was spectacular - it is difficult to capture in a photo.  The area is a small natural park along the east coast of Tenerife.  It was created by a volcanic eruption some 100,000 years ago, and by the arid conditions, with very low rainfall locally.

Afterwards, we had a late lunch at a low key restaurant on the sea front in Puertita de Güímar.  And we may have an early night
