'Liver Bird' In A Cherry Tree

I've seen cormorants flying round our neighbour's lake and swimming in it but never before have I seen one perched in a tree on the bank. This one had been in position quite a while judging by the white splashes of guano on the formerly dark green shiny leaves of a Mahonia bush beneath it. I took a chance getting this worm's eye view. Its black webbed feet look wrong clasping the ornamental cherry bough, a bit like it's wearing industrial rubber gloves.

I was sad to find a dead juvenile great crested grebe floating in the water. (Extras) GCGs have never frequented the lake.

We spotted a pair of muntjac deer on our walk after lunch. (Extras)
