Day 7

Before lunch I walked over to (and around) the Panathinaiku Stadium, site of the first Olympic Games of the modern era. The weather was much more fun than Monday’s, but still cool.

I had been to the stadium before, and it reminded me that the last time I was here (2010) I ran from the hotel to the top of Lykavittos Hill and back, passing the stadium in each direction. Sadly, time does not stand still. A hypertension crisis soon after an Achilles tendon problem brought my running days to an end about 7 years ago.

I was tempted to join those jogging around the Olympic track, but decided not to embarrass myself.

I travel back to Scotland tomorrow, and whilst I am looking forward to seeing Junior, I really cannot think of any other reason to feel positive about it.

The Blip is the stadium, obviously, as are a couple of Extras. The first Extra is the sun going down on 2019 and the decade.
