Forlorn

I have confusing feelings everytime I go by this house. It's large, had pretensions and was built during the Boom Years of the Celtic Tiger (early Noughties). It looked a bit daft compared to its traditional neighbours but someone thought it would sell. The doors and windows went in, the exterior was painted and (I had a sneaky peep through the windows) the internal doors were delivered and piled up inside. Then nothing. Then the doors and windows were removed. Then nothing. And there it has sat, now a rather grand stables for two horses who are using the land as a paddock. This is what it looked like 7 years ago

It's not unique by any means - the countryside is littered with houses like this, abandoned for one reason or other shortly after the crash that followed the boom. There's another house almost opposite -even sadder, for once this was a home - abruptly left. And we have a huge housing problem.
