Passing through

After a very late arrival last night and then off again just after nine this morning Mum, Dad and Eda are now north of the border in Edinburgh meeting Grampa Scotland and visiting the Royal Yacht!
Just time for breakfast a bit of play in her pj’s and a few hugs.
When she arrived this shelf had her ‘baby’ (Sylvanian kitten) on with it’s crib and high chair. It has been left there since Christmas.  They were originally Grace’s and are housed in what was my dolls house in Eda’s bedroom here.
Before she left she had brought several down in her pockets, all with their clothes removed! It was suggested she left them here so she put them in the little basket Grace brought me from South America and they will remain there till she comes again.

She had breakfast with Tiger and in the extra she is showing how Tiger would eat his food. She had gluten free bread with cream cheese and a pear. She was diagnosed Coeliac this week though it is something we’ve suspected for quite a while. Having been sick, literally, for a lot of the autumn it has taken a lot of pushing to get to this point. She had to keep eating wheat until the tests were complete which wasn’t easy but we did go gluten free over Christmas.  As her vitamins and minerals were seriously depleted she became very lethargic but with supplements in December she got back a bit of her bounce before Christmas. Her gut and intestine now has to heal and she needs to replenish her trace elements. There is so much more awareness of Coeliac and gluten free foods now so in many ways it will be easier than it might have been at one time. She’s already on a GF diet at nursery but it’s the things you don’t think of that will take some adjusting to like cross contamination. For example completely cleaning your toaster. I think G&J will get a new one and may initially go gluten free themselves in the house. When she comes here we will use reusable plastic pockets to toast bread in. There will be lots of other things to find out on this learning curve.
We are lucky as Eda mainly snacks on rice cakes and fruit, She loves meat, fish and vegetables and enjoys things like risotto and she can have as much ice cream as she wants! The main thing is she is back to being a fun, bouncy and busy two year old and we love her to bits!
I think she now has a very positive and healthy future. Can’t wait till the end of of the month to see her again.
