A view from Jeanneb

January delight.

A lovely walk this morning arriving at the Leeds Liverpool Canal at the Fisherman’s bridge near Dowley Gap just as the sun was rising. Because of the dark you can’t really see all the vehicles and works going on at the locks which are being upgraded and for which there will be an open day on 19th January.
It was very frosty first thing and the cars had to be defrosted which was a bit of a surprise after all this mild weather and there was the odd patch of black ice further around the walk in Bingley.
We continued from the canal along the River Aire before returning to the canal at the three rise locks and completing a circuit of Bingley.
Later the ‘Ladies who Travel’ went out for a meal. The second Friday of the month being our regular time but unfortunately only two of us were able to go. But we did travel by train to Skipton where we had a recommended (by Wilsden Walker) Afternoon Tea at Bizzie Lizzie’s. Very nice it was too. (Extra)
Ready for an evening in now!
Have a good weekend folks.
