Mono Monday - The Partners in Crime

Under that grey drizzly winter skyline
Stands St Mary’s, Redcliffe church divine
Watching the wedding guests meantime
Both longstanding partners in crime
As they race to draw a hasty line
Through the damp avenue of limes
In search of something warming and fine.
Gin, cider, beer or yes,  perhaps even wine?
Quickly now, for there is yet time
Before the arrival of the bride sublime.
