The Mechanical Horizon

I am very fond of renewables. Nonetheless, when first the horizon was turned into a forest of white metal trees I did mourn the loss of the kiss of sea and sky. Over the years I've softened... the alternatives of fossil fuel, nuclear or power cuts remain more unattractive. And yet, there is now something "over there", where before only dragons dwelt.

Yes, it's been a driving day. I set off about about ten thirty and got back at seven, with time for a bite of lunch at the far end. Not bad, really. 25yo Molly Campervan gave a sterling performance of 70mph cruise controlled comfort over the near 500 miles, and mum is returned to the village under Druid Mountain...

It's been a decent visit. A week long and one in which most of the family got a chance to say hi. She's as fit as a butcher's dog, but watching a few of my friends make the final farewell this week well, you never know do you. We managed for the most part to avoid comparative religions and spent a lot of time watching The Crown.
